COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT GUIDE
If you do not have a firearm but have completed your SAPS competency then we will have firearms available for use at each event.
Our equipment guide will also recommend the best options available when it launches in February and we will be adding our store which will have all the gear you need at the best possible pricing.
The below is a minimum that is required to compete at our events.
Plate Carrier Vest
Men – Minimum weight is 7kg
Women – Minimum weight is 5.5kg
The plate carrier vests are weighed WITHOUT ANY accessories, tools, and/or attachments. Only the vest and plates themselves must meet the minimum weight.
SAFETY FIRST
Every athlete must have a tourniquet and small emergency first aid kitE
Ear Protection
With a minimum Noise Reduction Rating (NRR ) of 25dB.
We recommend in ear options and overhead ear protection.
Athletes Eye Protection
MUST be certified with ANSI Z87.1+, MIL-PRF-31013, or EN166 rating.
WEAPON SYSTEMS
Handgun:
9mm, .45ACP or 10mm
AR-15 rifle:
Chambered in either 9mm or .223 or 5.56 x 45mm NATO.
- A belt that can hold your holster and 2 mag pouches for 9mm magazines and 2 pouches for AR15 magazines.
- Tactical holster that completely covers the trigger and trigger guard and that can withstand being banged up during the event.
- You are investing in a lifestyle of Tactical fitness and whilst you don't have to go out and buy the most expensive brand, we recommend paying a bit more and getting good quality gear.
APPAREL - Recommended
Clothing that is suitable for a rough and tumble day out! The below is a recommendation:
- Sturdy shoes made for trail type conditions and CrossFit type activities are recommended instead of standard running shoes.
- Headwear – the sun is a demon
- Knee pads
- Warm jacket and a light hoodie for early mornings
- Shorts, Pants, t-shirts that are made from high quality material designed for tactical type conditions.
- Hydration Bladder
